Duties and responsibilities:

Preparation of students for career readiness:

  • Advise students on Career Centre platform offerings, including interactive career resources, e-learning content, and self-awareness assessments.
  • Provide guidance on CV design, interview preparation, and general career support.
  • Offer one-on-one career consultations to help students develop self-awareness and work readiness skills.
  • Design and present interactive workshops related to work readiness.
  • Host work readiness workshops and showcases, inviting industry leaders to address students.
  • Collaborate with heads of schools and departments on industry-specific events and workshops.

Career centre marketing and events:

  • Create awareness of the Career Centre through campaigns, in-class visits, workshops, emails, SMSs, WhatsApp groups, and daily student interactions.
  • Promote the Career Centre platform and the VC Career Centre app to ensure student and alumni engagement.
  • Upload job opportunities to the Career Centre platform job directory.
  • Lead and empower the Career Centre ambassador team to market the Career Centre and its platform.
  • Coordinate and host career-related events, including career evenings, part-time work expos, and career fairs for students and alumni.
  • Organise client appreciation breakfasts, graduate employment workshops, and alumni networking events.

Networking:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Ensure clear communication between clients and the Career Centre.
  • Conduct regular meetings with clients and attend networking forums.
  • Identify potential business partners and seek job opportunities aligned with offered qualifications.
  • Promote the value of recruiting through the Career Centre.

Recruitment of students and alumni:

  • Manage requests from clients for student or graduate recruitment.
  • Screen student CVs, obtain letters of recommendation, and conduct interviews.
  • Submit CVs to clients and track applications, following up on placements.

Alumni:

  • Provide career support to alumni and facilitate their involvement in networking functions, workshops, and reunions.
  • Create opportunities for alumni to give back through job opportunities, talks, or mentorship.
  • Maintain contact with alumni and track their industry success.

Minimum qualification requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., education, human resources, psychology).

Minimum experience requirements: At least three years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or training and development.

Special requirements: Driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle.

Working hours: Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
